Bamboo In The Sun

Our first bamboo we planted in 1976 but blackberries and alder chocked it out, or so we thought. When we cleared that section of the yard years later, there we found a shoot of bamboo struggling to live. Now it’s a large clump still fighting the blackberries for dominance
of that part of the yard.

My brother-in-law gave us a root of his bamboo in 2004 which we planted outside our
bedroom window, dreaming of hearing the rustling leaves in the breeze. It is now a lovely
screen across that section of the yard but our bedroom is in different part of the house now. We have more clumps around the yard, Berg, Black and Inversa. We really like it and use the canes for all sorts of projects.
