Through A Glass Darkly

Dark outside
I see only my own reflection
in windows meant for
seeing out of.

I lose sight of reality,
the bigger world out there
and tend to stare
only at my own reflection.

Deficiencies, problems
stand out more
in reflection
but life, nature, future
are still out there.
And in a little while
my own inadequacies
will disappear
into the beauty
of the forest.
