The Tomte is reputed to safeguard the farmer and his family, as well as the land the farmer owned or worked on against any misfortune. It was especially during the night that the tomte was actively being protective.

Eldest daughter is working on this Dresden Plate lap quilt for her grandma’s 100th birthday in May. Still trying to choose the colours between the squares. It’s going to look beautiful when it’s finished and mom will love it.
The long strips of braided fabric are now sewn together into a rug, around and around, adding more strips until the rug is the size you want it to be.
