Comfortable People

White Lily in our Rose Garden

Comfortable people
greet you enthusiastically,
look you straight in the eyes,
shake your hand firmly,
express positive reactions about what they see,
the cabin, the yard, how they found us,
share little stories about themselves,
laugh easily,
aren’t rigid in their talk but know what they want
and express it easily without force or apology,
wave as they walk by the window,
want to share what they did, ate or experienced in their day,
don’t hang around but visit in little snatches,
seem comfortable with each other
and themselves.

Comfortable people.
I hope we are comfortable people too.
