Thank you Canada
for being home to my family
for six generations,
for welcoming my ancestors
from Ireland and Germany
when they came here
for a better life.
Their stories are our stories,
where you cradled them in your prairies,
made homesteaders of those
who survived and flourished.
We are Canada,
all of us from every part of the world,
living, working, learning
and surviving
together.
Long may Canada reign,
glorious and FREE –
Oh Canada
we stand on guard
for thee. . .
