Are We Home Yet

If you can hear
rain on the roof,
birds in the trees,
slam of the screen door,
creaks in the wood floor –

If you can smell
cedar wood,
compost bucket,
witch hazel blossoms,
cookies and tea –

If you can see
flickering flames,
cozy chair,
smiles on faces,
time to spare –

Then you are home.
