Black clouds float across the skies
The sun disappears before your eyes
Soon soft rain is gently falling
Then the northern wind starts howling.
Leaves swirl round the naked trees
Grass and puddles start to freeze,
Our breath is white upon the air
And spiders webs are silver hair.
Our summer day’s are memory
We say goodbye then turn to see
Beauty changed but is still here
Her diamonds glisten everywhere.
And every word is seen and heard,
we appreciate each tiny bird.
Summer warmth has surely gone
But beauty keeps me happy all winter long.

Beautiful poem and beautiful photo too. Yes, winter has wonderful beauty and we are fortunate to have warm homes, full bellies and winder clothes. Thanks for your words of wisdom!

Sorry to give you the chills. Yes, I’m very thankful for hisnibs loving care. I can’t quite see myself out chopping
wood or unfreezing frozen pipes in this weather but I’m sure many women are quite capable at doing so. 😉

Perhaps I didn’t phrase that quite right… we’re having a cold streak down here, too, so the icy scene you described so well along with that icicly image gave me such a literal shiver that I forgot to mention how much I liked them (despite the shiver!) Lucky you to stay warm. Makes me think of how much we depend on the menfolk. 💞

Ah, cold shivers, I get it now. 😉 Ken’s been working on unfreezing pipes in the cabin today. Poor guy. I’m in warm
and cozy by the fire. 😉

Perhaps the aftermath of Kenneth’s snow chair? ☃️

Hi Gunta, thanks for your comment. I hope they were good shivers, not spooky ones. 😉

Thank you Cookie. It is so beautiful looking out at snow outlining all the trees and hummingbirds trying to get some
nourishment from the frozen feeder. Better thaw that out for the poor little creatures. 😉
