Waves of Emotion

Small splash of fear
retreats quickly.

Gentle movement soothes the moment,
then swoosh,
a wave hits,
overwhelming stability
and reason.

Tears splash
everyone in it’s wake
until all are saturated
with the depth of her pain

as the boat
pulls away
from the dock.
