
Violet (Evergreen Yellow) Viola sempervirens
Wild herb growing singly or in low mats. Stems trailing, runner-like.
Leaves: heart shaped evergreen, leathery.
Flowers: on erect stems, yellow with brown to purple veins, lower petal spurred.
Fruit : a capsule. At the base of the plant after the bloom is over one can often find budlike flowers which do not open, yet produce seed through self fertilization.
Used as a poultice of stem and flowers for burns and scalds.
Means: rural happiness
