Our Covid Tree

2020 covid tree

We weren’t in the mood to go out and get a Christmas tree but I still wanted to decorate something.  I snipped the tips off the spruce my best friend brought us one year when she flew here from Saskatchewan.  It was safely tucked inside a milk carton.  Now it’s a huge tree marking the pathway to our orchard.

I stuck the branches into a sterling silver candle holder given to us by a dear friend who is gone now.  She would smile to see it holding our Christmas tree.

It seemed appropriate to have a tree of nostalgia, of friendship and good memories.  With presents from those who love us under it.

Other than the lights outdoors around the yard, this is Christmas in our house for this year.  A Christmas we’ll never forget, I’m sure.
