Sweet violets
At times we see life
through wide-angled lens,
complete and beautiful.
But
focus changes.
Pain, disappointment, fear
filter our perspective
and the world never looks
the same again.
Rose coloured filters may help
for awhile
but more often
we just stop looking.
Dream apertures close down
and we hang up our desire to see.
Then we meet someone
who looks through heart-shaped lens,
who sees us as we no longer can.
Their focus is clear,
they show us their view
and we remember
seeing life like that
a long time ago.
It’s hard to remove the dust
of bad memories
embedded inside.
Slowly we learn to look beyond
what blocks our vision,
to see life again
as it was meant to be seen.
It is still a beautiful view.

Lovely poem. Such a gift when another can help us to see our true self once again. That which has always been there and always will be. Oh to live from that entered spot! XX
