Gathering Winter Firewood

Gathering winter firewood starts in the summer

It takes Hisnibs and helper about ten days of the summer to cut, split and stack firewood to keep our two houses warm all winter.  A good start on it here. There are 60 pieces of firewood per bucket load and about 60 buckets to fill two woodsheds.

Yes, firewood warms us three times – when you cut it, when you split and stack it and when you burn it. Not bad for a free resource on our own land. 😉
