Can’t Sit Still In The Woods

Hummingbirds hover over spider webs,
borrowing nest material
from over-active spinners;
mother robin trolls the lawn
for worms and bugs
for her babies;
helpless raven young
scream for food
as tired parents deliver incessantly;
bumblebees hum their nectar songs
over raspberry bushes;
even  mosquitoes rush into the frenzy
driving us all mad with their buzzing about;
I can’t sit still in the woods
with all this kinetic energy
around me.
