Wearing guilt and regret is like wearing a pair of shoes too small for you.
The discomfort ruins the whole day and adds to the regret for having put them on again.
Maybe if we got rid of the small shoes once and for all
we’d not have to make that choice every day.
Take one last good look at that which we loved once
and decide we no longer need to hold on to.
Whatever they cost, why we liked them, what we could do to change them –
none of that matters anymore.
They just do not fit.
