We’re so busy doing,
we’ve forgotten how to just be;
to sit, still and quiet,
stare at dark blue ocean until it becomes flat and green,
to watch until slow moving barge
disappears from view in the distant mist,
to listen long enough to hear
the cricket’s repertoire completely through,
to stay till the spider’s web is done.
We glance about,
but have become too fragmented
to focus in on what we see;
to watch it, know it,
experience it as it is.
To be
is to stop the questions
and be the answer.
