Nasturtium Tropaeolum mapis

We usually plant nasturtium  in pots or window boxes around our house. Likes poor soil, full sun. Potash aids blooms.

Use:
Deters aphids, squash bugs, beetles
plant around fruit trees for borers.
Companion for radishes, cabbage, fruit trees, potatoes, brassicas, apple trees, squash
Protects vine crops from insects.
Use as trap near cabbage to attract aphids from other plants.
Leaves and flowers in salads.
Antibiotic properties
seeds used as pickled capers.

Means: patriotism
