Woodland Rose

Woodland or Dwarf Rose Rosa gymnocarpa

BC’s smallest and most delicate wild rose. Shrub to 4’ tall. Many weak prickles. Pale pink, dainty flower. Hip a small orange pear shaped.
Eaten by the natives to sustain life in times of starvation.
Growing in with our Nootka roses.
A wonderful scent I remember from my childhood in Red Deer Alberta.

Flower means: chivalry, romance

I agree. Wish they’d stick around longer than they do.
