Why do we put up with
plastic labels on the back of our neck
that itch and scratch and cause a rash;
horrible coffee that costs way too much;
pesticides on our food that we know causes cancer;
plastic that never breaks down;
food that isn’t really food
but chemicals and substances not meant for human consumption;
politicians that lie and treat people with disrespect
while we pay them to run our world.
I’m fed up
with putting up.
Time to rip off annoying labels,
drink good coffee,
eat only what is nutritious, fresh and real;
refuse plastic wrapped everything;
recycle what we can’t avoid accumulating;
vote out those who do not represent us with honour,
respect and honesty.
Enough with putting up with.
