Sunday Morning Prayer

Bowing poppies

Thank you for this very special place you gave us over 40 years ago.
And thank you for protecting and preserving it.
In spite of our wanderlust and mistakes,
loggers and well-meaning friends
we are still here where you placed us,
happy and grateful to be.

Whatever comes in the next chapter of our life
I pray our daughters and grandchildren
will experience the peace and contentment here.
Not lack of problems nor perfection,
not complete silence but quiet enough to soothe the soul.

May they see beauty not just work,
birds and not just mosquitoes,
sun and not only shade.
Please help them choose to shift their perspective
toward what is good and lovely
when most in our world only seem to see
what is not.

Beautiful. I add my prayerful hopes to yours for the future generations. It is a wonderful place that soothes one’s soul, heals body and mind, and reminds us who we really are – if we let it.
