I Saw Two Elk In The Woods

Elk Cow

Big! Majestic!
You can’t see them
unless you stand perfectly still.
Then what appears to be a tree trunk,
in the distance,
moves.
A very big elk cow
looking at us.
There, another moving slowly away.
One movement from us
and they are gone.
Illusive.
Awesome.
