Nootka Rose
It May Have Thorns
Like the flower you gave me
and the words you chose
so I give my love
as you gave me the rose.
Though it is not perfect
and could cause you pain
for its scent is sweet now
but may fade again.
There is not much more
that I can say or do
and though it may have thorns
I give my love to you.
