Poet In The Tub

It’s not that easy
writing in the tub
book edges are wet,
blue lines smudge
but fluid inspiration is best written
when it flows.

Submerged in tepid water
thoughts unclog and ideas gel,
but by the time I’m toweled off
lofty words have dried as well.

So here I lie,
pen in hand,
waiting for my muse to land.
