The play ended
on an unhappy note
not how we wrote,
nor as we’d hoped.
But as the curtain
dropped to the floor
I heard the closing
of a door
and knew this drama
had just begun,
off stage right,
walk into the sun.
No lines to remember,
gestures to forget,
because this new play
will be the best one yet.
Be who you are,
say what you mean,
stand straight and tall
as you write your new dream.
