Yesterday I pulled up the dead stalks of Jerusalem artichoke in the garden
and smiled at the new yellow/green shoots of Lovage poking warily out of the soil.
Today everything is white again, as though yesterday was just a hallucination.
Poor lovage, I told it spring was here and now it’s buried in winter again.

Now the sun is shining and the snow is melted off the roof in torrents. so pretty though with the sun showing diamond sparkles on the trees.
