Picasso must have seen like this:
distorted faces,
squished down heads,
squares aren’t square
and reds aren’t red.
Strange what stories
retina tells
in shape and form
and colour swells.

Really! Maybe there is a blessing in disguise in seeing with more than one’s eyes.

Monet was apparently nearly blind when he painted some of his best works. I believe he saw the aura of the nature in those paintings and they are a wonder to behold.
