A shadow show
of what is wanted
and what one gets.
I know the dance,
I think I’ve learned
to accept reality
without the debilitating
disappointment
I used to react with
when it didn’t turn out as I’d dreamed.
We are lucky enough
to have the freedom
to create what we want
and live with the flow of what we created.
Perfection of the dream
is not as important
as creating it as best we can
and being content with the flaws.
