Snow Sharron R. McMillan
Many of us have been
on that toboggan
hurtling down hill,
out of control.
Some are still on it
seeing destruction ahead
but helpless
to stop.
Some lie in a heap
at the end of the ride
hurt, broken,
and powerless.
Some have been able to
get up, brush off the debris
and struggle
back to the top of the hill
hoping for someone
to give a hand,
some hope, a little encouragement
on the way.
Some have survived,
been healed
and now have a new appreciation
for the dangers steep hills of life contain.
