Watching The Old Year Die – Part 4

20161230-p1070415-2_watermarked
Nothing more can be done,
we count the seconds down,
a gasp, a kiss, the year has died
then we all turn around

It’s 2017
toast the future and our hopes,
no longer what has been.
Past regrets all dissipate
like fireworks in the sky,
with cheers and noise we celebrate
and confidently cry
Happy New Year!
