Torn Apart

p1070335-2_watermarked

The magnificent thing about being torn apart
is that eventually I come to the place where I have the strength
and desire to piece myself back together.
The process of healing,
closing the wounds
and forming a patch work of bruises and scars,
lends creative pleasure to the new me.

I have the opportunity to recreate myself,
to build a beautiful and strong woman from the rubble.
Each shard and fragment placed with care,
knit together into a lovely, resilient tapestry
that doesn’t hide the past
but weaves it into the fine fabric
of a blessed life.
