Mom’s Old Blue Jug

2024- Plant Puzzle.jpg

This old blue jug is an anchor to the little girl I once was and also a picture of the woman I have become.  It sat on our cupboard full of milk tokens and Nabob coupons during my childhood. Packed and unpacked throughout my teens, set on display and hidden deep in dark cabinets as busy young adult years whizzed by.   Scratches are just surface, cracks and pieces completely missing are deep. But now, in my retirement, I identify fully with this lovely old jug. It calms me and reminds me that perfection isn’t as important as being useful and being present in whatever condition we find ourselves.

Cream and sugar sets, an old cooking pot – treasured memories- not forgot- of other lifetimes – yet, this life – not for sale at any price!
