I Failed Me Once

I failed me once
I broke my heart
why should I trust me again.

I tried too hard
did it all wrong
lost touch,
went quite insane.

I didn’t stay there very long
now that it’s past it seems
just a few years, a fraction of
a whole life built of dreams.

Many more years have passed me by,
still I yearn to heal
to stop regrets, let go of pain,
be someone who is real.

Oh I like that! Yes, lessons I’ll never forget. And empathy for those still learning. 😉

A friend once called her experience a “nervous break through”. She learned so much. No experience is wasted. Your compassion is deeper and sincere I expect.
