What I Think I Am

Not what I do, not what I say
Not what I wish, nor how I pray
It’s what I think that makes me what I am,
It’s what I think I am.

Not what I wear, nor how I walk
not where I work, nor how I talk.
Not where I live or go to school
not how I act, uptight or cool.

If I think truth, I shall be true
in what I say and what I do
but thinking lies, a lie I’ll be
though some I’ll fool I’ll not fool me.

So help me Lord, my mind to know
that what I think I’ll always show.
Teach me thoughts that help me grow,
thoughts that mirror the ultimate plan –
being who You think I am.
