Just beyond what I can take,
slightly past what I can see
I know because I went there once
it seemed the only place to be.
I’m not there anymore,
I went there once but never got
whatever I had gone there for.
So I have no need to worry
that I’ll go there by mistake,
no more fear of falling into
like a chasm in a quake.
No fear of turning corners
finding I’ve become insane.
Because I know where madness is
I will not go there again.
