I kneel upon the sand along a shore
my head is bowed
I’ve not been here before
A gentle peace pervades my mind
the chains of fear that used to bind
fall round my knees as strands of hair
a warm breeze blows
the sand is bare.
I hear a voice, as if in flight
Be still, it calls, I see a light
more bright than any light I’ve known
covers me, I am not alone,
no fear is here, joy fills my breast
I want to sing
I feel at rest.
Sweet music slowly fills the air
a song I know is floating there –
A new heart now you have within
new eyes that will truly see,
here your new song will begin
sing with joy
for you are free.
