He Came To Those Who Needed Him

Shepherds,
A carpenter,
A lonely young girl –
all simple folk.
I wonder why he chose to come
to simple folk.

Is it because they did not have all they desired?
They still looked for love
for peace
for joy,
things they knew they could not buy,
win
or inherit.

Simple folk see him
because we
still need to.
