Wisteria (3)_watermarked

We have grown together
like two different species of plants
entwined but not dependent.
At least I like to think we are.

I know we have not allowed each other
to parasite our personalities or lives.
We can stand on our own
and face life in our own ways.

We’re more like the fence and the clematis
or the wisteria on the house.
One supports
and one adds interest and colour.

We could exist separately
but not look as good
or thrive as well
without each other.

  2. So beautifully put and such an accurate description of a great relationship. Strong alone but much better together! Bravo! This should be made into a wedding card to which couples can aspire .
