Gathering Mushrooms

Not much to talk about on a rainy November morning
but the mushrooms keep gathering
to gossip
about all the goings on in the woods.

It’s easier to live like this than live like most people. Our inspiration was the books by the Nearings, “Living the Good Life” and “Continuing the Good Life” as well as Harrowsmith Magazine and Organic Gardening Magazine. You have to have a dream and then go for it, never allowing anyone to dissuade you from it. If we can do it, anyone can do it. Go for it, you’ll never regret having taken that less travelled path, believe me. πŸ˜‰

That seems wonderful I would love to experience life one day like this. πŸ™‚ It’s so moving to see that there are indeed still people on this earth that are able to live harmoniously with animals instead of chopping trees and setting fires (sigh). Thank you for sharing your experience with the animals– you guys seem to share a wonderful bond and I hope that I too would be able to experience it one day myself. Thank you. πŸ™‚

We’ve lived here almost 40 years so the wildlife are our friends. We only shoot with our cameras. We respect the critters and they tend to do the same with us. Though hungry bears think all food in the woods is theirs. Coyotes are very shy but we have an electric fence around the chicken coop so they won’t be getting any more free meals from us. Deer come to the window for apples and Stellar Jays tap on the glass asking for peanuts. It’s lovely here. I can’t imagine living in a city. That’s where I’d be afraid for my life. πŸ˜‰

Yes, we do live in the woods on 11 acres of forest. If you’d care to read all about our paradise you’d be welcome to explore our Home page at http://www.hardtocomeby.com (you’ll have to cut and paste it into your browser, the link thingy didn’t seem to work.) We ran a Bed and Breakfast for 12 years so set up this page. Enjoy.

Thank you. People who live deep in the woods tend to do that. πŸ˜‰
