I Watched Him Die

No code blue
or palliative care.
Machines descend on last breath
of salt sea air.

Ripping limb from limb before
death shudder ceased,
piling naked trunk upon,
remains of those deceased.

A horrible, haunting thing to see,
the merciless
and cruel death,
the end of one old tree.

Thank you Diane. We tend to forget the trees are very important to our planet. Laws need to be made that one tree is planted for every one killed. 😉

So very sad. I have watched it too many times lately with the new houses going up around us. So well said Sharron…
