Shattered

The shattered guitar hung on the wall
dried roses stuffed
into its broken body,
her constant companion
since she was twelve,
heard every song
and sob,
travelled with her,
in her dreams
and her despair…
broken now beyond repair.
Transformed now
into something beautiful,
hauntingly inspiring
in spite of the pain.
I know she too
will one day
sing again.
