I have so much to live for
my life’s filled to the brim
there is so much to live for
my mind can’t take it in.
Each day brings a new sunrise
I watch it and rejoice
many are the daily joys
of which I have a choice.
I may choose to go out in the sunlight
or stay in and listen to rain
I may romp in the snow as a child
or relive days gone by once again
I may sing with the music of children
playing so freely nearby
or hum to the quiet of rest time
and dream of my love with a sigh.
And finally the sunset
fading of light’s last ray
flowers all folded and nestled for sleep
I had so much to live for today.
