Where was Andy Rooney when Madalyn Murray O’Hair
won her lawsuit as an atheist
to take prayer out of schools?

We are still free to pray when we want to,
where we want to.
If we get sued
we can plead freedom of religion
and freedom of speech
just like everyone else
who wants to do what they want to do.

I don’t understand these emails
that make it sound like we’ll get shot
if we pray in public.

Go and pray,
though God says to go into your closet
and shut the door.

We need to stop crying foul
and blaming foreigners
for something that an America woman started
in 1963.

Shut up and go pray!
Pray without ceasing
but keep your eyes open if you’re driving.
