Heaven for me
Will be a summer day
in Boundary Bay
when I was 12 years old.
Responsibility,expectations
left behind.
Fresh salt air, gulls,
bare feet, hot sand.
No schedule,
no chores,
no rules,
nor fears.
Only rest, beauty and love.
We taste these moments briefly here
to entice us to believe
that heaven does exist
and we can go there
again.
