The Real Me

Sometimes I’m full to bursting
with thoughts I’d like to share
but my mouth is always empty
the words just are not there.

My mind runs to my fingers,
not my mouth, I fear
and all my thoughts are paper
that no one else can hear.

Bundles, scraps and booklets full
tucked away where none can see
pen and pencil, push and pull
the only true, real, honest me.
