Messed Up Again

Half filled books
and scraps of paper,
stories of my life.
Start anew with careful strokes,
be a better wife.

Then a page,
a day,
gets blotted,
messy writing,
hurried thought.
Give up, no good
you messed again.
Now you’ve done it,
worry fraught.

Start again
a brand new book,
a brand new page,
new pen.
Carefully
and slower now
page after page,
and then. . .
