Music to End the Day

The whole town sits a block away
listening to plugged in instruments,
screaming lyrics of inspiration
so loud
no one can hear them.

I sit here beside the sea
waves beat rhythms on the shore,
sea gulls hum their own tune
and rocks trade places
as water rinses off the dust of the day.

This is music to end the day.
