Backwoods Journal – Artist Studio

1992 studio

One year we joined the local artist studio tour event hoping to sell some of Ken’s paintings  so we transformed the house in order for Ken to actually have a studio to show.  We moved his grandfather’s old bookcase across one end of the living room and moved our bed behind the bookcase.  We then opened up the wall where it adjoined the bedroom and turned the bedroom into a cozy living room. The sectional couch was long gone by this time and I had inherited mom’s apartment-sized love seats which fit in perfectly.  We eventually got a new wood stove and added new flooring.

So the living room became Ken’s studio, the bedroom became the living room and the office end of the living became the bedroom. It’s not necessary to add rooms on anymore, it’s more fun to just change what the rooms are used for.
