Soul Surgery

I have faced a giant
and found it to be a snail
as tiny and scared as I
only magnified by the distance.

I have talked to the enemy
and see it is only a person
as hurt as I
only minimized by the distance.

Now I feel numb,
emotions
do not rise
to the surface,

tears
no longer fall,
I feel nothing.

Anesthetic
of soul surgery.
What will I feel
when it wears off.
